St. Paul MN Real Estate

Historic St. Paul Real Estate
Did you know that Minnesota has over 7000 properties on the National Historic Register? Over 1600 of them are found right here in St. Paul. If you are interested in purchasing a Victorian home or other vintage style architecture, you found the right city for it.
St. Paul is loaded with historic sites and painstakingly preserved historic buildings, including government buildings, churches, hotels, and restaurants. The State Capitol building, St. Paul Cathedral, and the History Center are obvious cases in point. Even without visiting all of these famous historic sites, you can get a glimpse of St. Paul’s history just by touring a few homes.

You will be amazed at how many wonderful St. Paul homes were built in the 1880’s and retain their original stately and dignified character. You might be able to find a Victorian that is graced with a high ceiling or turrets and located in Daytons Bluff. Maybe a Georgian style colonial would be fun for you to see. There are also some wonderful craftsman style homes in “Pill Hill.” Keep in mind that most of these are completely updated with new mechanicals, but still have all the charming and gracious appointments like built-ins, tall mopboards, leaded glass, and french doors. You might even get lucky and find a nice cozy 1920’s bungalow for under $200,000!

Life in St. Paul MN
St. Paul is the undisputed cultural mecca for the upper midwest, and is home to over 1000 organizations that produce entertainment, cultural events, and access to fine culture. Visitors come from far and wide to see the Minnesota Science Museum and the Ordway Theater. The Xcel Energy Center is home to the Minnesota Wild pro hockey team, and the city also is host to the Saint Paul Saints, a minor league baseball team that plays in a real outdoor stadium with real grass, and is way more fun to watch than the Minnesota Twins! It’s no wonder that Sports Illustrated magazine called St. Paul “sportstown!” If your taste runs along the high class end of the spectrum, you can go pub-hopping and take the bus to Roy Wilkins Auditorium to watch those feisty Roller Girls knock each other around at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium. Sometimes Roller Girl teams and the entire crowd break out into a giant polka dance during intermission!
