South Minneapolis Homes – Nokomis Neighborhood

Endless green and leafy boulevards… parkways festooned with flowering  trees in springtime…  the Hiawatha Municipal Golf Course… bike trails.. Minnehaha Creek… pulling black crappies out of Lake Nokomis…. what’s not to love about this part of South Minneapolis Minneapolis?  Buy a Nokomis home in South Minneapolis, and all you need is a pair of jogging shoes, some swimming trunks, a bicycle or perhaps some roller blades to make your life complete.  There is a good chance that you will be spending every spare minute of your time enjoying all of the outdoor recreation that Nokomis has to offer.

Besides all of the fun you can have in the Nokomis area, there are practical reasons for moving here as well.  Traffic flows easily on  major routes that transect and border this community.  The Lightrail makes easy commuting to a Timberwolves game and downtown shopping.  Ride the Lightrail in the opposite direction and you are just a few short minutes to the Mall of America.

According to the Northstar Minneapolis MLS statistics at the time of this post, there are 232 single family homes for sale, with prices ranging from fixer uppers on Snelling Avenue priced in the $40’s to classic four bedroom English tudor-style houses close to Lake Nokomis priced in the $500’s.  The average asking price is $223,783, and the bulk of the selection of these South Minneapolis homes falling within the $100-300K price bracket.
