Eagan has always been a preferred location for people who have work or lifestyles that take them all over the Twin Cities. Eagan is a dynamo of growth and activity. It was incorporated in 1974 with a population of 17,000; today it stands at 67,500 and is still expecting more growth. People are attracted to the schools, the business environment, lakes, parks, and recreational opportunities. If you visit Eagan, the first thing you will probably notice is the incredible abundance of trees. Eagan makes every effort to preserve the natural beauty by preserving parks, wetlands, nature reserves, and even some old farmsteads of historic importance and aesthetic value. Eagan´s park are numerous, large, and beautiful. View outdoor sculpture and flower gardens. Find acitivities at the outdoor skate park, bike parks, the winter sliding hill at Trapp Farm Park, or one of the city´s many sports fields. Even with all of the wealth of outdorr activities, Eagan is the eighth largest community in the state. Eagan was recently named by US Money Magazine as the 12th best place to live.

A large reason for this is undoubtedly the local economy. Employers here include
Thomson West, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Northwest Airlines, Lockheed Martin, UPS, Midwest Coca Cola Bottling, Eco Lab, a major US Post Office facility, Freightmasters, Prime Therapeutics, Transport Corporation of America, Delta Dental, Best Brand Foods, Walmart, and Goodrich Corporation.
Apple Valley- Eagan-Rosemount Independent School District is a state and nationally recognized public school system, and is Minnesota’s fourth largest school district, serving approximately 28,000 students in early childhood programs through 12th grade. For 15 years in a row, For 15 consecutive years, the district has received the What Parents Want Most Award and has also been named a Gold Medal School District in Expansion Management Magazine. The district places a strong emphasis on its STEM (science, technology, engineering and math programs.)

How much do homes in Eagan cost? At any given time, there are usually about twelve or thirteen dozen single family homes going for an average sale price in the upper 300’s. There are surprising values in new construction out there, including homes in Marcella Woods built by Wright Home that are adjacent to Lebanon Park. How about a spacious walkout rambler in Whispering Woods built by Vennehjem, complete with cherry and birch built-ins? Head on out to Homestead Village if you want to see an Arts and Crafts style neighborhood. Perhaps a brand new Thorson built two-story on a heavily wooded lot would be suitable.
